Dual deliveries from
The Tooth Fairy!

Last Thursday, my brother-in-law and his family arrived in town for a week-long visit, and my six-year-old niece Emily was quick to show me how she could wiggle one of her front teeth with her finger. Sure enough, later in the day the thing popped out. We had to reassure her that The Tooth Fairy does indeed come to California too.

Meanwhile, I had to go to the vet to pick up our kitty Estelle, who'd been having dental issues of her own. It turns out that they had to pull one of her teeth that had developed some sort of infection, so we were 2 for 2!

The next morning, Emily (who's older sister Samantha appeared in another earlier post that happened to involved Estelle) looked under her pillow and found not one, but two little packages from the tooth fairy. Apparently, The Tooth Fairy monitors kitty teeth too, or else has a feline counterpart, because one of the hand-made pink vellum envelopes contained two one-dollar bills and some candy, and the other one, a couple of Estelle's favorite treats:
