My local public radio station airs an excellent program called To The Best Of Our Knowledge, and this week they devoted an hour to fonts (mp3 here). They interview the designers of Gotham, the font used by President Obama, and Verdana, the font developed by Microsoft for the Internet (and which Ikea infamously adopted in place of Futura last year, to the chagrin of many vocal typophiles). There is also an interesting discussion of whether the single font on the Kindle, Caecilia, homogenizes the reader's experience.
