Things Organized Neatly

So my blogging's been spotty lately, and the main legitimate excuse (i.e. aside from laziness) that I have is that I've been hard at work getting our house in order from the move. I love a move for that – the chance to reassess and reorganized every one of your possessions. I'm in the home stretch now (no pun intended), so it was great to get a final boost of inspiration from this fantastic tumblr feed, Things Organized Neatly. I'll just say, it is Things in the broadest sense, but that they are Organized Neatly is inarguable...

Thanks, Melissa!

Typography Tuesday: TTBOOK Font Episode

My local public radio station airs an excellent program called To The Best Of Our Knowledge, and this week they devoted an hour to fonts (mp3 here). They interview the designers of Gotham, the font used by President Obama, and Verdana, the font developed by Microsoft for the Internet (and which Ikea infamously adopted in place of Futura last year, to the chagrin of many vocal typophiles). There is also an interesting discussion of whether the single font on the Kindle, Caecilia, homogenizes the reader's experience.
